I just reinstalled Directx 8.1 and all my problems went away. (All but the known usb issue with the 150mb version. An 11 hour download for the 192mb with a 56k is not going to happen.) This was the only game I was having trouble with and I have a bunch (40gb). Anyway I looked at my DxDiag.txt file (unam 4x studios got me thinking) and there it was under INPUT. It said corrupt registry key (or something) reinstall DX. So I did and it works fine! Please note this was in the txt file, I did not see this in the utility interface. I have a ps/2 adapter on my usb mouse. Game rocks!!! Wish I had the 192mb version so I could use my usb. Let me know (post) if this works for you.
