Multi Player works, Single Player gets Run time error, HELP [Archive]

I can play multi player most of the time with no problems, every once in a while it will kick out to the windows screen. Single player will not start, I get a run time error. I am running it on a amd 1.4 with 512 of memory, with ati 7500 radeon, on XP professional. If anyone has run into this and fixed it please let me know.
