I have just installed the long-awaited patch (two months later than promised)that is supposed to fix the CTD problem, among other things.
Rather than fixing the game, it actually made things WORSE!!!
The first time I launched the game (pre-patch) I was at least able to view the childish intro movie before the game crashed to desktop.
Now the movie burps, farts and stutters before finally allowing me to get to the main menu, where after clicking on "new game" . . .
It crashes my ENTIRE SYSTEM, forcing me to resart and try it again. Needless to say, this game will make a lovely addition to my embryonic collection of decorative drink coasters. If I had a dog, I might use the CDs to play fetch with him; this is about all they are good for.
So after $40 and two months of pointless aggravation, I say to all the folks at Dreamcatcher, 4X, Wanadoo, et al: "Never again trench warfare!" :mad:
