Before today I was like many other people crashing to desktop. Three days ago I took my Ironstorm over to my friends place who has exactly the same computer.. "Except" He uses a two button mouse with a wheel on it. I use a two button logitech trackball with no wheel. His machine booted ironstorm first go with no patches installed at all. I did everything listed in these forums on my machine with no results. Yesterday I took delivery of my new cordless Logitech trackball which happens to have two buttons and a WHEEL. I fresh installed Ironstorm and what do you know.. No patches installed just changed the mouse. That's all. No formatting or config files or anything else except the mouse (trackball). Just the fact that our machines are identical except for one thing has to be more than coincidence. Funny I haven't even used the wheel except for scrolling through the controls screen. All options set to full runs flawless no crashes.
This the trackball I got which changed everything.

Try changing your mouse to a wheel jobby. Doesn't have to be fancy. My friends only cost him $10. Seriously worth a go for a seriously good game.
