Since I was reading the problems in this forum before I bought Iron Storm, I was torn about buying it now, or until at least one patch was out. The reviews were so enticing, and the developer appeared to be working on resolving problems, so I shelled out my money hoping someday soon it would run on my (and others) machine.
I was also reluctant because I had just bought and installed Syberia from Dreamcaster - this game (by another developer) is giving me problems (inconsistent lock ups), which I won't go into here, so I had serious reservations about the quality of developers Dreamcaster was associating with.
My only hopeful consideration for Iron Storm was that I did not have many of the video/sound devices mentioned by others, who were having problems.
Installed IS (medium install, not full or minimum) and fired it up - so far no problems whatsoever in solo play (haven't tried internet). And I have NOT had the key cutomization crash. No crashes, no lockups. Got through the church entrance ok, although the looooooong load time going to the next sequence had me worried.
The only noticeable flaw is brief slow downs during heavy gunfire sequences. I'm glad I'm not running it with minimum requirements.
