First, no flames back at me, I'm just an innocent gamer.
I was able to get the game working by doing 3 things. First, I applied the patch for the US retail version. Then I updated my Nvidia drivers to the latest. Lastly, (and I think this is what did it), I went in to the Windows Control Panel, Sounds and Multimedia applet, and set the "Audio", "Sound Playback" to "Game Compatible Device". My default was to my Santa Cruz sound card. I thought I'd post this as I can now play the $@$@#$* game after messing around with it for 2 hours to get it to finally work.
