After waiting 6 weeks for patches (1.02 didn't help) and trying deleting the movies etc, I still always crashed to desktop after the disclaimer about fictional characters - running the full, European version.
Today I re-installed my MS mouse driver (which is on a PS2 port, not USB), stopped the IIS server running, and disconnected a USB scanner - and am now playing campaign (single user) with no problems. Golly. Not sure which of the three changes I made helped, but I'll check tomorrow.

I've re-started IIS and the USB-connected scanner, and IronStorm still runs, so it looks like re-installing the mouse driver (same driver!) fixed MY crash-to-desktop. Wow.

Good game, it was *almost* worth the wait.
System: Athlon 1200, 640 MB RAM, Radeon 9000 adaptor, W2K.
