Before Hege came out I downloaded the demo. I thought it looked great but it wasnt very clear on what you were supposed to do. I also read about ORB around the same time.
ORB came out first and I bought it. I played it and it was OK. Hegemonia came out the next week and I couldnt help but wonder if it was cleaned up since the demo. So I went and bought it too.

The full game is MUCH improved from the demo, and the manual and in game help are very easy to understand. I played the single player for a few missions and then I got on to the multiplayer.
Multiplayer is great, it has it's issues, some having to do with gamespy I'm sure. But for the most part it is solid. I havent crashed to the desktop or had any real problems. Although DCG does need to address the version issue.
So after 2 weeks of playing ORB and Hege, I have decided to put ORB on the shelf and save it for a rainy day.

Theres alot of posts on this board about bugs and gameplay. I havent experienced any problems with the game. Sure I think it could be balanced a little more, but thats my opinion. Some people think it's better to destroy battleships with corvettes. Others think its correct to destroy smaller craft with larger ones. No game balance is perfect to everyone.

Hege is not Homeworld, or IG1,2 or 3. It's better than those games in a lot of ways. And if it doesnt fit into a specific genre then thats great! We could use more games that blur the lines a little. If you want Homeworld you can get it at walmart for $9.99 now.............

My opinion is that Hegemonia is a spectacular game. Some things need to be worked on. But theres no reason not to rush out and get this game if your into space rts titles.
