    Default Best Mage Path

    What is the best Mage progression path? A pure Mage seems like a difficult path in this game. I had tp put most of my advancement points into light weapons, armor, and shields just to stay alive. I can't make it as a pure mage this time.

    i found the best mage path so far to be Mage/Adept -> Sorcerer/Enchantress -> Wizard or War Witch for female chars.

    Males = Mage/(warrior or Adept) -> Sorcerer/(any class that gives bonus to wepons/armor/sheilds/and "Archane if possible") -> Wizard.

    So far i have not seen an effect for Drain Life skill on my War Witch partly because i rarely get hurt sence i getting the skill.

    I like the Spellfire skill as it adds dammage and my novas kill most things in 1 or 2 blast novas or 1 fire nova.

    Untill you get a high level of Archane and Scribe, Melee will be i big part of combat. Hope this helps.

    i would recommend that you start out as a fighter and once you get into town join the mage guild. i would recommend this class path:
    fighter -> marauder (you gain light dual wield)
    mage -> socerer -> wizard

    he may wish to join Samuri untill the next patch comes out as Marauder quest does not always work. Walked his spawn point for about 2 hours and he has not shown up yet.

    i like fireburst more, you can shoot those quick as h3ll and they do pretty good damage.

    yeah, there is that problem with the marauder quest but i've done it twice without any problems. also, the marauder will get the heavy weapons skill which might come in handy.
    i say it comes in handy because you'll find some heavy weapons that seem ideal for certain situations.

    Samuri gains inflict wounds, Marauder gains sneak. Not shure how well inflict wounds works, but the sneak skill is noce when playing multi player as the enemies may attack other in the party opposed to the mage with sneak.
