I think you could aleast give credit to the borg first, then say you have changed his map,no one has a problem with you making a detailed map just the fact you havent given credit to other people.

1/3 of the fargrove map that people post on these forums is incorrect anyway (eastern and north eastern part).

it's pretty easy to figure out anyway once you get around town a few times.
just confusing for those first timers going around town trying to get to sections that are indicated on the map, not knowing that they are in different locations or just not there all together

For Fargrove, I used a sheet of graph paper and drew all turns and locations as they were found and 'noted' all locations. A 2D map is so simple to make and much less confusing.
